FAQs

How much does a ceremony cost?

The rate for a ceremony during the week is $100.00. and $150.00 on weekends at the Downtown Courthouse. The fee must be paid in cash and exact change is required.

What do I need to bring with me to the ceremony?

Please bring your wedding license packet, the wedding fee in cash and at least two witnesses over the age of 18.

May I bring extra guests to witness my wedding?

Of course! You may bring as many friends and family as you would like to witness your ceremony. However, you will need at least two witnesses over the age of 18 to officially witnesses the solemnization.

What if I do not plan on exchanging rings?

Not a problem. Many couples do not elect to exchange rings. Upon booking, there is a field to enter whether or not you and your future spouse intend on exchanging rings.

I do not have two adults over the age of 18 available to witness my ceremony, can I still book?

If you do not have witnesses available to attend your ceremony, please contact my Bailiff at Parisien.court@kingcounty.gov. Many times we can arrange for witnesses, for an additional fee.

I am interested in seeing if the judge can perform a wedding somewhere other than the courthouse, is that an option?

Judge Parisien is often available to solemnize weddings at locations in and around Seattle. Please e-mail Parisien.court@kingcounty.gov, for availability and rates for ceremonies around the Seattle area.

I would like to prepare my own vows for the ceremony, how do I get those to you?

If you would like to prepare your own vows, please indicate that in the field when making your reservation. When you receive your confirmation e-mail, it will include additional instructions for submitting your prepared vows prior to the ceremony.
